On behalf of our entire 2008 Democratic National Convention team, I welcome you to our official housing website.

Recognizing the important role that the media plays in providing a window for viewers and readers into the presidential nominating conventions, our pledge to you is to make this Convention one of the easiest and exciting news events to cover this election season.

To that end, we are proud to offer for the first time an online experience for media that will maximize efficiency for our housing process – and help to make the 2008 Democratic National Convention greener than ever before. By Taking Housing GREEN, we’ll save some 50,000 sheets of paper – all while offering a seamless, user-friendly service to our media partners.

Joining us as Housing Director for 2008, we are fortunate to have Tina Akintayo, a professional from the hotel industry who brings a wealth of experience to the table. In addition to contacting her by phone, we are offering an “Ask Tina” link from the home page of this site that will help facilitate a timely flow of information and eliminate the need for you to contact hotels directly. Tina will be working closely with our media logistics team on all aspects of media housing for our 2008 Convention. Please don’t hesitate to contact them with questions or feedback on your online experience at any point in this process.
